Liz Spruill

Liz is a Master’s of Social Work graduate student at Simmons University in Boston, Massachusetts. Liz completed her undergraduate studies at Washington and Lee University, where she studied Cognitive and Behavioral sciences and became interested in the application of neuroscience research to mental health treatment practices. Liz is currently interning at the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at the Justice Resource Institute, and is working towards her certification in Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga. In addition to her internship, she works with youth in the community as a Therapeutic Mentor, providing community-based mental health services to youth with complex trauma . Last year, she completed her internship at a therapeutic day school, and is particularly interested in the application of somatic healing practices for adolescents, disrupting the cycle of intergenerational trauma, and mindfulness-based treatment approaches.
